The Leeds Roses and Leeds Thorns compete in the Women’s National Ice Hockey League (WNIHL) at Division 2A. Female players are eligible from age 14.
For girls who come to hockey later in their development, the transition into U19 mixed hockey can bring a significant increase in pace and physicality. For some players, continuing their development within women’s hockey provides an excellent opportunity to build confidence, strength and experience in a supportive environment, allowing them to develop at their own pace while continuing to enjoy competitive hockey.
