🏒 Under 16s

Two teams. Two divisions. Back-to-back National Champions.

The Under 16s programme at Leeds Jr Knights is where talent, hard work and ambition come together.

We currently ice two U16 teams, competing across:

🔵 U16 Division 1 North
⚪ U16 Division 2 North

Our current U16 age group is made up of players born in 2011 and 2012.

🏆 Back-to-back National Champions

Leeds Jr Knights have built a remarkable record at U16 Division 1 level.

In 2026, our U16 Division 1 team became National Champions for the second consecutive year, making us back-to-back National Champions. At Division 2 level, our U16s finished in second place in the league, narrowly missing out on a change to compete for the national title at that level as well.

These are fantastic achievements and testament to the standards our players and coaches set every season.

But success doesn't happen overnight. It comes from years of development, commitment and hard work, supported by a club environment that gives players the opportunity to reach their potential.

Our U16 programme provides players with competitive hockey at two levels, allowing them to continue developing while being challenged appropriately.

Having teams competing in both Division 1 and Division 2 gives our players meaningful opportunities to:

At this age, development isn't just about individual skill. Players are developing their game awareness, tactical understanding, decision-making and ability to perform as part of a team.

U16 hockey is an exciting stage of the journey. Players are becoming more physically developed, tactically aware and responsible for their own performance. The expectations rise.

Our aim is to create an environment where players are challenged to improve, encouraged to compete and supported to achieve their ambitions.

Whether they're competing for a National Championship or continuing their development in Division 2, every Knight has an important role to play.
